Aaron Clarke vs Azwan: the result at Byon Combat Showbiz 7
Aaron Clarke won his Byon debut by TKO against Malaysia’s Azwan Che Wil.
The fight took place on Saturday 25 April 2026. The venue was the World Trade Centre (WTC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was a kickstriking bout in the 61 kg division, which Byon calls lightweight.
Indonesian news site Tirto listed it as the fourth of 12 fights. Its results line was simple: “Pemenang: Aaron Clarke (TKO)”. Pemenang means winner.
Tirto said Aaron, the fighter from Ireland, came out full of confidence. It called his display captivating. It said the Malaysian “kalah TKO dengan brutal”, or lost by a brutal TKO.
The first three fights that night all went to the judges. That made Aaron’s win the first stoppage of the event. An Instagram post said the same thing: it was the first TKO of Byon Combat 7.
How Aaron Clarke beat Azwan Che Wil
Byon’s own account points to several knockdowns and then an elbow.
After the event, Byon wrote that Aaron dropped “legenda Malaysia”, the Malaysian legend, several times. It said he ended the fight with an “elbow tajam”, a sharp elbow, for the TKO.
Byon also saluted the man who lost. One of its posts read: “RESPECT FOR THE LEGEND TO STAND TILL THE LAST SECONDS”. Byon’s TikTok praised the “incredible resilience” Azwan showed by staying on his feet.
Some details are still missing. No press report we found gives the round or the time of the stoppage. None says whether the referee stepped in or the knockdown rule ended it. The full fight is free on Byon’s YouTube channel, so you can watch it for yourself.

MVP Gold and the new villain of 61 kg
The win made Aaron one of the big stories of the night.
Byon named him MVP Gold for Showbiz 7. MVP Gold is one of Byon’s fight-night performance awards. A lower tier, MVP Silver, also exists.
Byon called it “DEBUT SEMPURNA”, a perfect debut. An Instagram post said the debut drew a lot of attention from “BYON MANIA”, its name for its fans.
Later, Byon gave him a new label. It called him “SANG VILLAIN BARU DI KELAS 61KG”, the new villain of the 61 kg class.
Not everyone saw it coming. Before the fight, one Indonesian fan page asked if he would be a threat at 61 kg. Or would he be “pelengkap saja”, just there to make up the numbers? The fourth bout of the night gave the answer.
The callout: Brian Lawitan, or anyone at 61 kg
Aaron did not wait long to ask for more.
Tirto reported that he called out Brian Lawitan straight after the fight. He also said he was ready to fight anyone in the 61 kg class.
Byon posted the moment on fight night. Its caption read: “AARON CLARKE INCER BRIAN LAWITAN??!” Incer is Indonesian slang for taking aim at someone.
Tirto’s line is a summary of what he said, not a word-for-word quote.
Aaron Clarke before Byon
Aaron arrived in Kuala Lumpur with ten years of fights behind him, but none at Byon.
He is an Irish fighter who trains at Soma Fight Club in Bali. He came up at Naas Kickboxing in Ireland, and his story covers those years in full.
- Ireland: he won the ISKA K-1 Lightweight Irish title in 2021 with a first-round knockout.
- Japan: he lost a unanimous decision to the reigning K-1 Lightweight champion, Yuki Yoza, in 2023. He lost another decision at Krush 167 in Tokyo in 2024.
- Bali: he won by TKO at Canggu Fight Night 31 in 2024, then by TKO in a pro boxing bout in 2025.
- Hanoi: his last known fight before Byon was a loss in September 2025, at 61 kg under MMA Striking rules.
Against Azwan, he stood 171 cm to Azwan’s listed 170 cm, and both made the 61 kg limit.
Who is Azwan Che Wil?
Azwan Che Wil is a Malaysian Muay Thai fighter from Kuala Lumpur.
Byon billed him as a Malaysian legend. Its posts said he had 30 professional wins. They also said he won a silver medal at SUKMA, Malaysia’s national games.
Byon announced his return on 6 April 2026. The post said he would “turun gunung”, or come down the mountain. It is an Indonesian phrase for a master coming back to fight.
ONE Championship profiled him in May 2020. It called him a Muay Thai specialist and a Kuala Lumpur resident. He was 24 at the time.
The Muay Thai Records site lists him at 170 cm, fighting from an orthodox stance. His last listed weight is 61.2 kg. It shows three bouts in ONE Championship, all losses:
- Han Zi Hao, TKO in round 1, ONE Conquest of Champions, 23 November 2018.
- Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat, KO in round 3, ONE Immortal Triumph, 6 September 2019.
- Wang Wenfeng, unanimous decision, ONE Reign of Dynasties II, 16 October 2020.
The two pictures do not line up neatly. No public database we found lists Byon’s 30 wins. So we give Byon’s billing and the ONE record side by side.
Azwan came to Kuala Lumpur to win. A Byon video carried his words: “Saya Datang Untuk Menang Lawan Aaron Clarke!” In English, that is “I came to win against Aaron Clarke!”
You will also see his name spelled “Azwan Che Will”, with two Ls. Vidio and some Byon posts use that spelling. ONE and his own Instagram handle, @azwanchewil, use one L.
The build-up in Kuala Lumpur
Byon built the fight around a debut and a legend.
On 11 April 2026, a YouTube video showed Aaron testing his power on a PowerKube strike machine. Byon president Yoshua Marcellos filmed it. By late September it had about 326,000 views.
Byon said Aaron set the highest left low kick mark in the 61 kg class on that machine. That was a promo test, not a fight record.
Fight week brought a simple message from Byon: “AARON CLARKE IS READY!!!”
The weigh-in and face-off came on 23 April 2026. Byon’s post gave the details: 25 April 2026, WTC Kuala Lumpur, live pay-per-view on Vidio.
The rules: what UCC kickstriking allows
The fight ran under UCC kickstriking rules, Byon’s own stand-up format.
The Uni Combat Council (UCC) runs kickstriking. Its rulebook calls it a stand-up sport using punches, kicks, knees and elbows. These are the rules that matter most for this fight:
- Rounds last three minutes, with one minute of rest.
- Slicing elbows are legal. They come in at about 45 degrees with a turning motion.
- Straight-down elbows, including the 12-6 elbow, are banned.
- A cut from a legal elbow is not a foul. If the doctor rules a cut fighter cannot go on, it is a TKO.
- Knees to the head and body are legal, but a fighter may not pull the head down.
- A clinch can last one to three seconds, and it must end with one attack.
- One knockdown in a round scores 10-8. Two knockdowns score 10-7.
- Three knockdowns in one round end the fight. Four across the whole fight mean a TKO.
- A TKO does not need a knockout. The referee or ring doctor can stop a fighter who cannot defend safely.
- Elbows and spinning elbows count as advanced strikes. They can score higher when they land cleanly and do damage.
Byon’s account of this fight mentions knockdowns and an elbow. Under these rules, a round with a knockdown is scored 10-8, not 10-9. For every rule in plain English, read our guide to the Byon World Grand Prix 2026.
Byon Combat Showbiz 7: the first Showbiz outside Indonesia
Byon Combat Showbiz 7 was a first for the promotion.
Antara, Indonesia’s national news agency, reported that thousands of fans came to WTC Kuala Lumpur. It was the first Byon Combat Showbiz ever held outside Indonesia.
Byon president Yoshua Marcellos Muliardo said at least 3,000 tickets sold out fast.
The card had 12 bouts. Fighters came from Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran and Ireland.
The two news outlets differ on how fans could watch at home. Antara said every bout aired live on Vidio pay-per-view. It gave the price as Rp59,000 in Indonesia, RM17 in Malaysia and US$6 elsewhere. Tirto said the first six bouts were free on Vidio. Aaron fought fourth, so by Tirto’s account his fight was free to watch live.

What the Azwan win led to
The win over Azwan opened the door to bigger nights.

Antara linked the two wins as a run against Malaysian fighters. It described Aaron as an Irish fighter known for his deadly elbows. Byon named him MVP Gold again and called it “BACK2BACK MVP GOLD”.
The Showbiz 8 win also earned his place at the Byon World Grand Prix on 12 December 2026. See the 61 kg field and Aaron’s road.
